Bikini – removes or thins out existing hair on the bikini line for a cleaner and smoother look.
How long does it take?
A: Every client will need a minimum of six treatments every four to six weeks. With each treatment, the hair gets finer as the light targets and destroys hair follicles. Additional treatments may be necessary for some clients as there are hormonal changes and dormant hair follicles in the body. Who is a good candidate for Laser and IPL hair removal?
A: Our Laser and IPL technology is so effective; it permits the treatment of ALL skin types, even TANNED skin.
Can all hair be treated?
A: Yes, treatments are customized according to hair color, texture and location. Any hair with at least some pigment can be treated.
What happens after treatment?
A: Within several minutes, the treated area may become slightly red and puffy. This reaction subsides quickly and within a day or so the areas return to normal. Clients often describe the sensation of a mild sunburn for the first day or so. Since the Laser and IPL does not cut the skin, bandages are not necessary and most people return to normal activity immediately. You should not, however, plan any important social engagements during the first several days after your treatment, especially if the treated areas are on the face.
Around 3-10 days after the treatment you may experience what seems to be hairs re-growing. Most of these hairs, however, are dead,treated hairs that are being shed and are not regrowing. In between treatments you should not wax or pluck your hairs because this decreases the ability of the Laser and IPL to destroy actively growing hairs.
How does Laser and IPL and IPL hair removal work?
A: At Being Spa we use both IPL, intense pulsed light and Laser and IPL to treat unwanted hair. IPL and Laser and IPL emit highly controlled flashes or pulses of light. The light emitted is attracted to the color in the hair follicle and the result damages the potential regrowth of the follicle.
What You Should Know About Laser and IPL Hair Removal
A: Laser and IPL Hair Removal Pre-Treatment:
- Stay out of the sun for at least two weeks.
- Shave the area to be treated.
- Treatment area should be clean (no lotions, creams, makeup, etc.).
Laser and IPL Hair Removal Treatment:
- For your safety and the effectiveness of the Laser and IPL Hair Removal procedure, our skin specialists may ask some medical questions before your procedure.
- For your safety and comfort, all our Laser and IPL hair removal equipment is medical grade. They contain cooling systems; you will feel a cooling sensation to ease the mild pinching sensation of the Laser and IPL.
Laser and IPL Hair Removal Post-Treatment:
- It is normal for the hair to continue to grow until all sessions are completed; however, you will notice that significantly less hair will grow back after each Laser and IPL treatment.
- Your skin will return to its natural color shortly after Laser and IPL treatment. Very rarely, some pink or redness may linger for a day or two.
- Do not wax between Laser and IPL sessions; only shave if necessary.
The Results After Laser and IPL Hair Removal Treatment:
- Will notice that significantly less hair grows back after each treatment.
- Depending on your skin type and hair color, permanent hair removal can be expected.
What special instructions are necessary after treatment?
A: Do not apply any products on the treated areas of your skin, except sunscreen of you will be outside. Avoid Retin-A, alpha-hydroxy acids, glycolic acids, astringents etc. You may wash gently with soap and water, but do not rub or scrub the area.
Do not expose treatment areas to direct sunlight. Do not use tanning beds at any time during your treatment intervals with this Laser and IPL. Wear a sunscreen daily if the areas to be treated will be exposed to sunlight.
3-7 days after treatment some of the hairs may seem to be re-growing. This occurs due to elimination of the hair that remained under the skin and is not true growth of the hair.
Do not wax or pluck any hairs between treatment sessions.
Do not pick or manipulate the skin in the treatment areas.
